Topic: Question for those using A to A# and Ab levers on C6 |

| I'm preparing to either install two left Knees (LKL and LKR) towards the right end of my Dekley --OR-- just use the existing LKL and LKR over on the left end that are used for the E9 neck. These will be to raise and lower the A strings on the C6 neck. It seems to me that if I use the existing levers over to the left it may be quite a stretch to get my left foot over to the 6,7,8 pedals when that knee is on the levers way over to the left. On the other hand, if I add the two levers towards the right end (there is existing hardware there) my knees might be kind of cramped over to the right. I'm wondering what works for most who have those changes on C6. Do you just double up on your existing E9 levers over on the left or do you use two added levers to the right. Thanks in advance for your input. |

| I'm set up for two "Middle levers". All I need to do is put the levers on the brackets, add the rods, and the cranks. I was thinking they were pretty far over to the right but that's probably the way to go. Thanks. |

I couldn't do it without middle-levers. It may be just possible to reach maybe 4,5, even 6 from the LKs but physically beyond me.
As it happens, my As raise on RKR and lower on RKL.
My MKL lowers the 3rd to B, my MKR raises both Cs to C#.
My MKV raises 10 and 6 to D and F respectively.
These KLs are very comfortable fitted to my build and require a minimum of effort to use. If I were you, I'd try and add more centrally-placed levers. Those two changes are extremely useful. |

| I see now with the levers in place they're more central than I thought. My B and C# levers are on the right so these will be LKR A to Ab and LVK A to A#. |

| I have the 4th string A to A# change on my right knee moving right. Its the same knee that works the E9 2nd string lower and 9th string lower. Works great, and guitar is Emmons push pull. Never did the A to Ab change. |

I have C-B on RKL, C-C# X 2 on RKR, A-Ab X 2 on LKL, A-Ab X 2 on LKL, and A-Bb X 2 on LKR. Up right, down left. Symmetrical and simple-minded.
Also, LKL works well with 6 for m7s in that position. |

Yours is almost a mirror image of mine, except my preference echoes my E9 'Day' setup - 'lower to the left', 'raise to the right'.

This is my arrangement. Not shown is a half stop between A and B for the A#, Bb note on LKL. I like the whole tone raise there for maj7 etc.

That's an interesting P8, Jerry. I haven't seen that before, I don't think.
Why did you relocate the standard P8 to P4, or have you just always done it that way?
Is the half-stop on LKL? |

The first D10 Emmons I had was set up with the reverse 4 and 8 pedals. I like it over there. It seems like a natural progression from 4 to 5 to 6 and so on.
Confirming the A to B lever with half stop is on LKL.
Concerning the present pedal 8, I just never used the raise on the 8th string and I have the raise on LKL for the 4th string raise.
My old friend Boogie showed me the 8th pedal change as he used it for Travis style pickin', putting the 1,3,5 on the bottom strings. I don't do that, but I use it for other things where I want the majors down low.
I also have the E9 Franklin pedal on 8 and having fewer changes makes the pedal feel easier. |
