I just sent a pickup from my Dual Professional to Jerry Wallace out in Arizona for a rewind and general overhaul. He had it done in less that a week.replaced the old cloth wires with sheilded cable and it sounds better than the old 'good' one that is on the other neck.Highly recommended!
I also got an Emmons style pickup for an S-10 I just bought and it,too is great sounding.
I just thought you should know.

K,

Was this pickup rewound to the original specs? I have a spare one that is open. It seems that the sound could be improved with a few more windings on the core.

I believe it was.Jerry said he consulted some Fender literature about that style pickup. When I said sounded 'better' I mean less buzz and maybe just a little more punch or life or whatever-but not MARKEDLY different- so my guess is that it is at the Fender specs.

Rick , The rewind I did for Kevin has slightly more windings than the original Fender..I can add a bit more, However due to the construction of the winding bobbin there is a limit as to how much wire can be added..

Thanks for the interest in my pickups and rewinding to you both..Below is a link to my web site.

Just for my info and for future reference, is this the trapezoid pickup or the older rectangular PU Dual Pro?

Thanks Jerry. The day will come when I will finally get this restoration under way and then I'll find out if my DP PUs work ok or not. I've got your site filed in case.
