Just saw a similar topic while perusing the Electronics topic.

I had a Quilter TT12 and a Nashville 112 running through my Morley AB pedal. Ran all the cord intersections until getting to the Morley. When selecting the B output line for the Quilter, there was a persistent high pitch hum coming from the Quilter. I only ran the A channel N112 for inline backing track and headphone PSG. Imperceptible hum.

So…removed the Quilter from the Morley AB and low and behold….no more high pitch hum. Absolute quiet. OBTW…love my Quilter TT12

I really do miss the convenience of having the AB switch inline.

Any sage advice or recommendations?

Many thanks.

Arch, if you unplug the 112 from the Morley box, and just run guitar -> Morley box -> Quilter, does that take care of the noise?

If it does, you might need an ABY box that isolates the two amps from each other. The Morley ABY that you have connects the ground leads of your two amps together at all times, and some amps don't like that and will get noisy. Isolation (either transformer or buffer) will separate the two amp grounds. A Morley ABY "Pro" pedal will do that, for example.

I’m just a lucky dog. Found my old Morley ABC switch, installed inline and it works like a charm. Appreciate the brain jog. Looks like I’m back to a life of convenience.

Thanks for your help and info.
