I recently installed a Trutone pickup I bought several years ago but never used. It has good sound but I noticed it is microphonic. Is this normal with the Trutone? I have never used one so I do not have experience with them.

the active EMG JH’s I am getting for my Les Paul are epoxy potted. Microphonics can definitely be an issue playing at high gain and high volume so I imagine pedal steel pups being much more powerful and using the typical loud steel amp w 15” speaker wax potting would be a definite benefit
