Thanks for posting Dan. Wow he was a special player for sure. Loved his chord voicings. What a treat to hear this! The guitarist that accompanied Zane was a monster himself! Any idea who he was?

Wow, that sure brings back some St Louis sound booth memories.
Not sure who did the video, but I don't think that it was one of mine.

Any idea what year?

Bill,
I was told that was around 74 or 75. Don seems to think it was at the place where Scotty had the show prior to the hotel.

I'm not so sure about the date.
Scotty did not do any video at the Chase and I'm not even sure there was such a thing as "home" video in that era.

Yeah Russ, I remember.
But I don't ever remember him using a tripod. He or Micheal would just walk around with the camera, but I could definitely be wrong.

It's sad that all the tapes that Scotty made prior to my joining are gone. I'm surprised that this one surfaced but glad it did.

Maybe someone has all those early tapes and I just don't know about it.

I know that the video tapes that I made have deteroriated to a point that anything that I have not already digitized, I can't because the tape keeps breaking.

That's the problem with old tape. I wish Scotty had made that available long ago. Lots of history gone. I appreciate all you have done Bill.

WOW!This was great. I only heard Zane play a couple of times live. The first time I was a teenager. It was at Jeff Newman's school. The place was packed when I got there. But, I managed to work my way up front. Zane Was set up stage left just off the stage. I think Buddy and Hall was on stage. I sat down right in front of Zane on the floor with a little tape recorder. This shows what kind of impression this left on me as a teenager. I went home and found a new MSA with 4 pedals and 4 knee levers just like Zane. I wore the tapes and the recorder out trying to figure out what he was doing. I was years along in my playing before I realized Zane was playing a 12 string and wasn't playing a standard E9th tuning. This sent me down a rabbit hole for over 40 years of playing single 12/10 string guitars. I'm back on a single 10 with 4 pedals, just like Zane, still trying to find all them cords. Sadly when I saw Zane next was at Scotty's. He was already in poor health and would pass away just a couple of years later.
