I was lucky enough to meet Bobby about 12 years ago in Ft. Worth . He was very friendly, hospitable, and gracious. His talent and passion for real country music stood apart from many. I hope and wish younger folks will get turned on to Bobby and his music.

Peace and love to family, and be assured, The Cowboys are dancing in heaven tonight!

Such sad news. One of the best ever in more ways that one!
I always wanted to meet him, but never got the chance. He was my favorite on several shows I watch on RFD TV.
R.I.P. Bobby! You're sadly missed already!

Upon recollection these past few days, I believe that Bobby was the greatest "all around" musician I've ever worked with. He was a master of anything with strings on it.

I second what Larry King had to say in his post. Could play anything with strings on it and play it well. I saw him in St. Louis at the midnight show years ago. Johnny Cox on steel and the drummer and bass were great people we know but can't remember their names now. It was the show of shows. I have some of his CD's and have visited with him on the phone a few times.
A true Gentleman. RIP Bobby. J.R. Rose

I first met Bobby in St. Louis, Mo. at the ISGC. He came up to play with Dicky Overby when Dicky was inducted into the Hall of Fame. I was blown away by his musicianship. Being from Texas I have followed him through the years and having seen and heard the very best fiddle players beginning with Bob Wills, I personally think Bobby had them all beat. He was the best. Rest in peace Bobby, we miss you.
