While introducing a friend to pedal steel; one of his questions was "what copedent should I persue?" Reading the "Detesto Numbers" article in issue #5 of Steel Guitarist magazine I was inspired to create the attached pdf that provides a relatively easy visual comparison of a few notable players E9th copedents to the one I acquired when I bought my guitar. Using the Destesto number system and chord formulas is helping me to better understand where and how to create chords. I stuck to primarily the 10 string tunings but you could create your own comparison for any using this attachment as a guide.

I would go with just a standard Emmons “setup”. Even though I think Day is easier to learn, probably 90% of player do play Emmons “setup”. No need to make it complicated, standard 3 and 4 or 8 and 4 if it’s a D-10.
