Hi
Amongst many other things I am working on an album for Pedal steel and Banjo, the delay being I can only work on this when my wife Fiona is away (on account of her intense dislike of the banjo...actually my playing of the banjo to be more exact). Anyway, she's away at a conference for three days, so I've already added two new tracks: here's a pretty one...quite melancholic, and not at all weird (I saved that for some of the other tracks).

Nice I also play banjo and pedal steel, when we built our house nine years ago and the builders found out I played the banjo they put extra sound insulation around my music room. _________________ Banjo, Dobro, Guild D-40, Telecaster, Justice Pro Lite 3x5, BOSS Katana 100, Peavey Nashville 112 in a Tommy Huff cabinet, Spark, FreeLoader, Baby Bloomer, Peterson StroboPlus HD, Stage One VP.

Nice, I really enjoyed that. I listened to all the tracks, looks like a whole album right there. Albatross is one of those things i've wondered about, bluegrass w/pedal steel instead of dobro.
I still have my banjos tho my ambition to be the world's loudest player was put on hold. I had a Gold star archtop with extremely tight head, steel strings, pointy steel picks, high thin bridge, high action, everything geared for volume, and, well, the other residents didn't appreciate its artistic merits. _________________ - keyless Sonny Jenkins laps stay in tune forever!; Carter PSG

Interesting contrast Gene! Through force of circumstance, I've probably become the quietest banjo player in the world! No finger picks and I even try and avoid using my fingernails. Still too loud for some of my closest and dearest though. My daughter, who is now 27, still refers to my pedal steel as "that thing". She now lives in Bangkok, which just demonstrates how far people will go to get away from the sound of music!!
Thanks for listening...appreciate it.
