I have the blonde version, and usually start with the following settings. Vibrato channel, bright switch off, volume on 5 (22 watts), treble, middle and bass on 7; reverb on 4. Your mileage may vary.

Jeremy has settings close mine. Same on all but my treble is on 4 but bright switch on. You will have to tweak to your sound. I use a passive Goodrich volume pedal and a 7a Goodrich buffer. The 22 watt setting seems to work best so the volume is set at 5. Also try both inputs on the Reverb channel.
