Just a guess but I would say, an Emmons push pull(the blade) to a pot pedal into a Peavey Session 400 and a whole lot of talent!

Dale, you are probably right. However Buddy did add in an old DD2 (analog) in those days.

Even though Buddy would bring all sorts of effects with him, it was only because the mfg gave them to him and wanted his to promote.
He would usually use those odd effects on one tune and then bypass them.

His true sound was like you say, the Blade, Goodrich 120 volume pedal, George L's cables and a Peavey Amp. Did not matter which amp, as he made them all sound good.
