Brad Gum from Elkins, West Virginia passed away August 29. Brad was an incredible guitar and steel guitar player, and for those that knew Brad the word incredible really did not do him justice, he was also a great person as well. I am blessed to have called him my friend.

Sad news. I got to play with him as a member of the Holly Garber Band for a time in 1984. His talent was off the charts, on guitar and steel. I was just beginning to attempt pedal steel, and he was very encouraging.
An amazing musician and a good guy, gone too soon.

Looking on Youtube I see this video of Brad Gum playing "workingman Blues" on guitar.
No steel video, but I'm guessing this is him:

Brad was a great teacher also. 2 or 3 young guitar players in this area took finishing lessons from him, And are in Nashville or Branson following their dream.
