All of the bands I’ve played in usually do the Johnny Cash version of "Folsom Prison Blues" in the key of E. Until recently, that is. Hadn't played it in a while and the other night we kicked it off in A and I’m (almost) embarrassed to say it took me most of the song to find the riff, never mind the harmony.

So my new mantra is “down two frets, pedals up or down,” whether it's in E or not. Pedals down is the riff itself; pedals up is the harmony. Here it is in Eb.
