Beautiful. How did you end up with Sonny's ZB? I knew Sonny for many years. He usually played his Clark or his LeGrand III locally.
Thanks

Does it still have his reversed pedals on it? Like A pedal lowering 5&10 to B from C# instead of raising like he played in that era?

I ran into a player in Phoenix probably in the "70's" that played tuned pedals down to make an E chord.. Never quite understood the benefit!

Might have been Danny Snead. He’s been in Phoenix a long time but I don’t know if he was there in the 70’s. He’s a fantastic player. You might find some video on YouTube or a few clips here on the forum.

Carrol Garvin has lots of video of him on FB but most of it is C6 in a pop/jazz group. He has the Chalker C6 tuning on the back neck. He will invite you to sit in on his guitar but be warned, don’t do it! Laughing Nothing is “standard” on Danny’s guitar.

Apologies for getting off topic.

A friend from York Pa, Harry "Hap" Hatterer, had an original ZB. He said it was one of the last built by Zane in Arkansas before the company was sold.
It was mint condition. Harry passed about 3 or 4 years ago. I don't know where his D-10 wound up.

What shall hereafter be denoted as “Bob’s Guitar” looks better in person. One of the prettiest I’ve seen.

Until you roll it over and look at the mechanics. I immediately found it much less attractive. They sure sound great, though.

Just after i read this topic I saw a clip of Tom Brumley playing a ZB pedal steel.

Only because of that i posted the link, i have no idea if it's a similar steel, it sounds great by the way.
