This is a great little guitar someone built from parts. Whoever it was did a really nice job with the assembly.

Mighty Mite Fender licensed maple/rosewood neck.

Don't know about the body. Appears to be a 3 pc. body of unknown wood type. Waves "splash" theme on back etc, some appliques, as well as sprayed color. I tried to show but it's hard to capture in a photo, the body is a little rough like it wasn't sanded down well before finishing and there are a couple small runs in the green. Even so, it still looks pretty cool.

The pickups are Gretsch HB'ers, the machines are Grover minis. Abalone knob inserts.

This thing sounds great and is a joy to play.

I have some other gear for sale, so I may pull this ad if sales of the other stuff cover my obligations.

I need to get my money back out of it. $500 + shipping which is what I have in it including the updates.

Brand new Bigsby B50 and new bridge. Includes Vibramate Spoiler string loading device.

Don't do paypal. USPS money order only.

Regional sale preferred. Can meet verifiable, established forum member 1/2 way in this area for a cash deal.

Recent adds: Bigsby and new bridge w/filed out string slots.

this is a cool guitar. i'd probably pick it up if you lived next door. i'm a fan of inexpensive teles and such.
still looking for the right opportunity on a classic vibe.
how heavy is this surf tele? the lighter the better.

Not sure on the weight chris. No lightweight. Probably around 8#.

It's a unique axe with a really good feel and a nice tone. I'll regret losing it if it sells, but I need to cover other obligations. If it doesn't sell, I won't be too sad.

Someone asked about the finish on the neck. It is satin, not gloss. It think it could be tinted fairly easily.

Guitar has been fitted with tulip buttons import Tombstone tuners. These are slick. I believe I like the action of these better than the Grovers.

Your choice of either though.

Note the marks on the butt end. These are from the swiveling strap I was using.

No case...will ship with gig bag.

Please contact my PMs with interest, questions etc. Shipping is to conus only.

I had a Dewey Weber surfboard as a kid. If I didn't already have a Tele I might bite.

Cool Don!

I failed to list that the Vibramate String Spoiler is included. An additional device to make string loading easier with the B50.

This guitar is a take on Fenders' Cabronita model I think.

If you want the guitar but not the Bigsby, and you don't mind plugging some screw holes in the body, I'll take $350 plus shipping without the B50 and Spring Spoiler.

This would entail swapping out the current bridge assembly for the one that came on the guitar. That would put the strings through the body and use the original individual string saddles.
Refer to first 3 or 4 pics in the original ad above.

It would just take me some time to convert it back, but I have all the original parts. As mentioned earlier, I can swap out the tulip machines for the Grovers too.

Either way, some adjustments to the action and intonation may be necessary.

I appreciate that Jerry, but I'm done buying for the time being. I just picked up a Firefly ES-338 (ES-335 knockoff). I had to do some fretwork: The fret edges were razor sharp so I filed them down and did a slight crown. The fretboard needed some TLC so I douched it with 4 coats of butcher block oil. And finally replaced the tuners with Grover locking 406 minis. For a total of $375, it plays as well, and sounds as good as any 335 I've ever played. What I think, but have no way to test it: the volume and tone controls seem like they're log pots, and not linear. They are *very* active between 1 - 5, and then get very linear after that. Much different from my Fenders and Gretsch, but really very cool.

As an aside. one of the things that is interesting about yours is the "wood" center slab on the body. The way surfboards are made is two foam "blocks" are glued to each side a main wood "centerboard". Then they're shaped and laminated with fiberglass sheets and resin. Your guitar carries that theme. I think it's pretty cool. And the Bigsby is a bonus Very Happy

Maybe you could sell the parts separately? You might get you money back
