From the 1995 Southern Steel Guitar Convention, Saluda, SC USA
This was a VERY special day. Larry Sasser had been unable to play for some 3 years but was itching to get on a stage. He was so nervous when we first started planning this trip that he told me "As many times as I have been on a stage, I was never nervous until now. So the only way I will get on the stage and play is if you (me) will set up beside me and let's just play some old SLOW country standards".
So that is what we did and we made history that day as Larry went on to start playing steel guitar shows once again.
On stage with us were people from the band I played with in Atlanta, GA,
Wayne Smith - Bass
Billy Puckett - Guitar
Wayne Stowers - Drums
Larry "Wimpy" Sasser - Steel
Bill Ferguson - Steel
Sit back and enjoy and just overlook all the mistakes that we both made. It was just a day of fun and getting Larry "back in the saddle".
