Recorded in 1999. I was experimenting with an F Diatonic tuning on pedal steel. My good friend Fred Campbell played the bass on this simply Bach tune, "Minuet in G Major".

Very well done sir. The tone is very rich. Were you using a tube amp or recording direct?

I believe it was direct into the Roland V-Studio recorder, Joe.

Here's a link to a page about the F Diatonic copedent:

Very nice, bOb. I think I heard it first in the Pop charts from Alma Cogan sung in German as So fรƒยคngt es immer an, and in English as a Lover's Concerto done by the Toys.

Very tasteful, and an interesting tuning.

The question I always ask is "Would Bach have liked it?" and I think he would.

Very nice b0b Smile

I love classical pieces arranged for PSG. In fact, this Bach minuet in G was the first piece I learned in classical piano class way back in '78. Playing it in front of the class was my final exam and I practiced it so much I memorized it...and can still play it from memory Winking

It's not in a common tuning, Archie. I played it from the piano sheet music which is widely available. Fred Campbell's bass part was the left hand of the piano part.

I think it would be challenging but not impossible on E9th. On my F diatonic, it wasn't hard at all.

Hey b0b, if you were going to adapt your F diatonic to an eight string, which strings would you keep? Iโ€™d like to put this on my fender 400 and take a shot at some simple classical music Winking

You wouldn't have much of a range with 8 strings. I got it down to 10:

Even if you just took the top 8 stings, you'd still need 4 knee levers to get the full benefit of easy note reading.

I had a feeling that might be the case...oh well, too bad I don't have an extra S12 5x4 sitting around Laughing
