Does anyone know if the CD accompanying the Winston & Keith "Pedal Steel Guitar" book is missing some songs/lesson examples from the original LP?

I've noticed a couple places in the book where it says to listen to the record - but then I can't find the example anywhere on the CD (see pic below.)

Has some of that just been lost to time and different editions of the book? Or does anyone happen to have audio files from the original LP?

Travis, that exercise should be on the CD. When they manufactured them, a few tracks that should have been separate -- as in you could fast-forward straight each one of them -- were lumped together as one track. Therefore, if you hit your fast-forward button to find some of them, they don't appear to be there.

So, if you can find the song on the CD that precedes that exercise and listen to it to the end, the exercise will play next after a few seconds. At least that's how I remember it... it's been a minute. But looking at that tab, I can definitely hear it in my head, so I know it's at least on my CD.

That looks like the blocking exercise in the Key of B which is tagged onto the end of track 2 Streets of Laredo. That exercise starts at the 1:30 mark on that track

Iconic book written by Winnie. My opinion, the absolute BEST instructional material for a new player and also very worthwhile for seasoned players.

I also have the MUSIC somewhere on a backup drive somewhere.

Well I learned something new watching that Great Speckled Bird video- just slide the bar behind the nut to play in the open position - don’t need to lift bar off fretboard. But you all probably knew that…

I have this book and CD. Suggestion - Take it down to an office store like FedEx Office and have them spiral bind the book. It will cost about $6.00, but worth every penny. Your book will then lay flat without the pages trying to close on you. GREAT book.

It is a great book. And another word of advice: if you're trying to match the notes on the CD exactly (as you should) you'll find the tab is about 95% correct. If your ears are telling you something isn't matching up while playing along to the CD, don't automatically assume that you're messing up playing the tab. It's possible that it's just written incorrectly, at least for a note or two.

I penciled in corrections. If in doubt on any particular part, message me.
