Not completely related, but I tried to put one in my '74 Emmons PP, and even with the adjustment plate removed and the pickup sitting directly on the arms that mount the changer, it was too tall.. 😐

I have personally put BL 705s in many Push Pulls. They will fit fellas...

Cheers!

@ Mike: Are the originals shorter? Any mods required?
Thanks for any info! Smile

I do believe they are the same but don't hold me to that. I have mounted both the old chomes and the newer 705s.

One thing I do is drill the mount plate so the wiring goes straight through and not bunch up between the pickup and the plate. Also, the hole in the body itself where the wire goes through should line up the same. The goal is to NOT have the wire from the pickup bunch up between the mounting plate and the bottom of the pickup or body. It is tight but they will fit, or at least it has worked for me.

Now, I have not tried these in a LeGrande so the OP might check with Billy Knowles or Lynn Stafford as I know they work on many LeGrande Emmons.

Cheers,
Mike

I had to do the same thing with the pickup cable when mounting a 705 in my GFI Ultra. The reissue 705's cable exits in a different place than on the original 705 and the GFI stock pickups, and the pickup cavity is on the shallow side.

I have a 705 on my Emmons, I 💘 love it. That I play through Pro-Fex II and a Nashville 400. I prefer the double coil over the double coil pickup, to me the tone separation on the double is second to none.
And mids don't sound muddy all of the time.
