Topic: Remington Ride on C6th. Where can I get the tab? |

| After 40 years on E-9th, finally starting on C-6th. I can play the first part of the ride with the hammer on's, but I am just not familar enough with the tune to know what happens after that. C-6th is like a foreign language to me right now, I am not sure I could find it even if I had the audio file. I really need both the audio and the tab, I guess. |

Hi George, did you ever get tab for this tune from the late and great HR? I'm trying to learn this tune and would love some C6 tab.I've learned the first part from watching the video posted below, but I'd really like to learn how HR played that chord stuff the second time through the changes. Mind blowing to me. Hard to see whats going on in the videos I've found of Mr. Remington and others playing the tune. If anybody else has tab, or wants to take a shot at playing that second part, pease let me know. I know tabbing is a lot of work, but if anybody is willing to record a closeup video of yourself playing the chord stuff, that would be a huge help. Wishful thinking I suppose...

Herb used A6th tuning on both his pedal and non-pedal steels. A Lot of that chord improv he played on the cut is out of simple three-note chord grips derived from the harmonized major scale.

I'll play around with that. That's helpful intel. I don't have a high G string on my C6 pedal neck so I may need to jump up 12 frets for some of that stuff. I'll play around with that.

Ben, here's how I hear the first part of Herb's chord solo in C6th with a high E. I didn't take the time to dial-in the exact rhythms but this is in the ball park and I believe the chords sound right.

As a side-do you know if Herb Remington played this tune on a C6 or with his A6 tuning? He plays it in D too. Of all the covers of the tune I've found, I've never found anybody playing it in F on a C6 (equivalent to D on an A6)... |

I don't think Herb ever played C6th but I could be wrong.
