That's electronic music, which I studied, specifically, a blend of electronic and "musique concrΓΒ¨te," based upon found and recorded sounds. It is interesting enough. The tension structure is a little vague but I think I get it and the drums help.
That's me on the left in 1980 at the University of Tennessee Electronic Music Studio with Kenneth Jacobs (RIP) on the right. Photo is a scan from a news article about the concert debuts of a couple of Ken's and my EM pieces. The walls behind him are filled with synths - Synclavier II, Arp 2600, EML Electrocomp 101, EMS Synthi AKS, etc. I went on to a career as a recording engineer/producer/sound designer. I've written electronic score music for film and video as well - interestngly, often integrating lap steel. The steel offers a sound that has an "organic interface." Of course, I also play blues and rock on the lap steel as well.

It's mostly random, not deliberate. I knew that the tempo feeling would increase in the middle because the doubled drum tracks would be 180 degrees out of phase (one track is a quarter note longer than the other). Also, there are strange sounds of human movement in the feedback track towards the end, which sort of wraps it up.
The video algorithm caught all that and (hopefully) calls attention to the changes in the audio. My first video attempt was less restrained and tended to pull focus away from the audio. I like this version better. _________________ -πππ- (admin) - Robert P. Lee - Recordings - Breathe - D6th - Video |

Do I detect a little influence from "The 7th Guest"?
