Thanks for sharing that article, Brooks. Mr.Ries has a great writing style.
I've always been intrigued by the drum rolls Charlie did on Stupid Girl.

you're welcome. I suspect Mr. Ries, at University, paid as much attention to his literature and writing classes, as he did to his music courses.
Another Stones well-read and adept writer is, of all people, Keith Richards. _________________ A banjo, like a pet monkey, seems like a good idea at first. |

I always admired Charlie Watts. So unorthodox in style... Yet so effective, and always a class act... The "rock" of the Stones."
Wanted nothing to do with the "sex, drugs rock and roll" life style.. No groupies, been with his wife since 1964. Just a great drummer... How he maintained his sanity in the world that he was living in is beyond my comprehension. Slight abuse problems in the 80's for awhile but kicked quickly. One of my favorites.. RIP Charlie... Class Act and a life well lived. _________________ Melbert 8, Remington S8, Silk 6 string, Rick B6, Tremblay 6 lap steel, Marlen S-10 4&4, Prestige Guild M75 and Artist Award, Benedetto Bravo, Epiphone Century Electar (the real one) and a bunch of old lap steels.... mostly Ricks and Magnatones' |
