Thanks to Howard Pineapple for the link.

I always wanted to be able to do this - and I do use the technique to some extent - but I feel like I'm fighting my guitars to get that sound. I can move the knobs a lot without hearing what I want. Is there a specific capacitor to use for a more lively set of knobs?

Most volume and tone pots are audio (log ) taper to give a more gradual controlable effect. You could replace them with linear taper pots for a quicker action.

Raphael makes me think there are no boundaries to this instrument. You should hear him play with The String Gliders!

Jeff, (or anyone) can you please post a link to a specific pot to buy to make these sounds easier?

One of these ...

And one of these ...

The Magnatone actually works pretty well for these Fx - particularly volume. I recall I had asked Todd for boo wah capable knobs but he said at the time if he set them up that way it would only be good for that effect and not general use so he didn't recommend it. But looking at email, he said he set it up with linear taper pots so not sure why it doesn't work so well for that one technique. Otherwise, it's a stunning guitar.

If you use a 1M linear pot with an aggressive (0.1uF) capacitor you *will* get boo-wah... just won't be easily tunable for normal guitar tone... way too touchy.
