Getting pretty comfortable with the basics, but I'm having trouble coming up with good licks, especially counterpoint, to change things up. I've seen some scattered tabs here and there on the forum but nothing too in depth.

I'm looking for some good heavy counterpoint or pivot licks to incorporate in a 1-5-1-4 progression. This in particular is for a slow rendition of Goodnight, Irene. Trying to put together a little melodic and swell-heavy break for this song to play in. This particular in key of G.

Mostly standard Emmons setup - but LKL lowers 2 whole tone, raise 7 half tone, and lower 9 half tone. And RKR raises string 1 whole tone, and raises two a half tone. If that helps any ideas...

Any help appreciated, or if you know of any good sources or courses please point me in that direction. Happy to pay for any material. Thank you!
