Horseshoe magnetization

I have a Cole Clark with a horseshoe but i dont think they magnetized the shoes, i know they're steel and may have a tiny bit of magnetism but, if any,it ain't much. The poles are magnetized for sure and i like how it sounds now but I'm wondering if it will be better, and how to do it. I'm guessing there could be phase issues?
