Those of you with Rickenbacher B6’s, do you have vibration sounds on certain notes or chords? It almost sounds like a loose trussrod an an acoustic guitar vibrating in the trussrod cavity.

I have taken apart the Control Panel and rewired it, making sure no wiring was touching body, other parts, etc.

I disassembled the PU Assembly and tightened all screws, inspecting for loose “anything”.

I have snugged down all the Panda Plates.

I have attempted to touch or hold everything on the body to try find what is vibrating and can not find anything.

Are my ears laying tricks on me? It it just the amazing sustain of a B6?

Peace,

James

I have experienced that on my 1940 Panda, but have been able to isolate it to the cracked plastic cavity plates on that steel.

I had my son strum the strings while I applied pressure on various parts of the guitar.

Just a thought. Have you checked to ensure all the tuning key screws and name plate screws are tight?

I've had a lot of old tuners loosen up and rattle with certain notes. Basically, anything held together with a screw could be a suspect.

One or two of the tuners buzzes on mine. It’s not a loose screw, I think it’s the shaft. But, I don’t hear it when playing through my amp, so I ignore it.

I recently had this problem on my Gibson EH100. There was an annoying buzz on string 1, which I usually have tuned to D. When I changed tunings to one with a high E I noticed the buzz went away. It was also not present if tuned below D.

I swapped out the .015 string and replaced it with a .016. Problem solved.
