i got that CD when it came out.

i believe that chas smith was in on building that guitar that murph used and the recording. send chas an email or PM and see if you can get it from him. just do a search for chas smith.

Forumite mike Johnstone was the co-producer of that record. My copy got partially zapped in a computer crash.

Fred, the one on YouTube was from the 70s. It's not the recording being discussed. The CD "Murph" was Joaquin's final recording produced in the 1990s.

Yep, the guitar Chas built. Recorded & produced by Michael Johnstone, 1996-99.

We JM fans all owe Chas and Mike a huge thank you for making this CD happen - from Chas building Murph's guitar to Mike drying him out, encouraging him, and surrounding him with sympathetic msuicans. I adore his gorgeous solo pieces that close the record. JM was a bit self conscious on those so Mike tiold him he was going to get a sandwich, rolled record, and threw a hat over the red light. Murph played just for himself and ultimately years later, for all of us. Thanks to Chris Clem for posting!
