I've noticed that when I'm using my Telonics volume pedal, there is a noticeable bobble in the volume if I take my foot off, for example to push a pedal when my left foot is already occupied.
Yesterday, I finally got around to exploring this, and found that the pedal responded to any impact with a wiggle in the volume, as if something was being knocked off-center.
Is this normal, or is there something wrong with my Telonics volume pedal?

Mine doesn't do it. Maybe some unintentional movement when you take your foot off?
A slight tightening of pedal "drag" might do it too.

Thank you for the response!
That was a good suggestion, but it didn't make any difference. I increased the drag an eighth of a turn or so. With the pedal sitting on the floor (not touching the guitar) and the volume set about halfway up, I can tap on the side firmly after strumming the strings, being careful not to touch the treadle. The volume wavers momentarily.
Doing the same on a Hilton volume pedal I have on another guitar has no effect on the volume.
At least now I'm sure I wasn't doing anything odd with my foot to cause it..

What kind of surface is your pedal on?
Is it flat, hard and level? _________________ Make sleeping dogs tell the truth!

Contact Dave Beaty at Telonics. He will get to the root of the problem.
A bad guitar cord or dirty jack can do this too. _________________ GFI Ultra Keyless S-10 with pad (Black of course) TB202 amp, Hilton VP, Steelers Choice sidekick seat, SIT Strings

I did, and the pedal is on its way to Telonics.
From the serial number, Dick Beaty says it is one of the very first Telonics pedals ever made, in 2010, and may well have had a "Mullen" nameplate originally.
We'll see what happens!
