No steel involved here, but if you want to enjoy an hour of outstanding Telecaster picking:

Redd is at the top of his game with this new trio. His dry humor just makes a great performance even better Very Happy

David, thank you so much for posting this link! What a treat! I'm a big Telewacker fan... love Redd's pickin' and chord melody....and his clear, clean tones through that old Sho-Bud Custom amp.

Great trio. How nice it must be to have that kind of space to play in. Basic kit and upight bass. Nick and Dylan complement his style so well.

Lots of great music and great songs. Right up my alley...once started I had to watch right up to the end.

Good stuff!

Loved every minute of it! I don't usually enjoy guitar trios this much, but his ability to play great and interesting fills while singing reminded me of the great bassist Esperanza Spalding. And of course, Redd is a true tele master.

I'm familiar with some of the Telewacker recording, but I don't recall ever hearing his instrumental here. It's called Send it Back and it's killer.

Nick sings very well and has some great numbers.

Redd offers some good history on the the songs he does too.

While over there on YT, check the sidebar for another show from the same group from 9/20. That would be a great little establishment and town to vist sometime too.

Just terrific listening for a day too hot to do anything here in the Ohio Valley.

The All Time Monster Telecaster Picker. I met Redd years ago in Nashville on the South side at The Stage Coach Inn. A small room but great sound. And Yes, He can sing and pick his backup licks like you cannot believe. Don Kelly played bass then and do not remember drummer. A three piece group such as this. And then I found Redd
again shortly after he moved to Austin. I have a CD of him with Jim Murphy that is a killer CD. J.R.

Yeah, no kidding! Did Redd ever play with Murph at Gabe's? I was there several times in the 90s. Always a killer band there. Seems like I would've remembered Redd there though!

Thanks for posting. I adore what Redd does and this is a particularly nice set. There ws a live set with Jim Murphey on Youtube a few years ago that for my money was the gold standard of Redd. He's pretty great with Cindy too.

Yep, that's the one. He and Big Jim brought out the best in each other's playing.

I would love to find that CD with Redd and Big Jim. Do you know the title, or on what label it was released? Thanks!

Just before Redd went to work for Hag, I played with him at a club in Victoria, BC, Canada, called The Halfway.
He sure knocked me down a couple of pegs. What a player!
JR- I played for Don Kelly in his house band at a roadhouse, off of I-40, east of Nashville, around Briley Parkway before he worked at Robert's Western Wear.
Some amazing Tele players came out of his band.
Those Tele players sure like to make fun of us steelers
Some Hellecasters in Germany:
