It's a beat up old amp that sort of works but needs a lot of help. Has a 15" EV speaker. I got it from Duane Marrs and it says Gretsch on the back. Was an awesome amp in the '70's but time and travel took it's toll. I'll try to post some more pic's but it took three days to get this one on. Maybe PM would work better.???? I'm in west central Florida. I'd sell it for whatever I could get.

Thanks John. That's what it looked like when I got it from Duane. I have had a few people ask about it and I may look into fixing it. It seems like it may be worth at least getting it checked out. It is heavy but it's has wheels on it. I admit it gave me some problems but when it was right it sounded awesome. |

That's kinda the same thing as a Sho-Bud single channel-if I wasn't already up to my
a$$ in 'em,I'd make you "an offer you can't understand"(Bobbe Seymour).
Hope you are well,Ben!

I'm doing fine Steve, thank you. I'll be taking the amp up to Bondz Music in Wildwood Fl. today to get it checked out. Doug Stock works there on Wednesdays so we'll have a chance to talk about the "old Days" at Church St. Station.
I hope you're well. We'll look for you next time we're in Nashville. |

Ah,Church St.Station...Big Jim Murphy and I had a great time down there when we were down there taping TV back in the previous century...he was working with Clinton Gregory and I with Tim Mensy...we stayed up too late and had a 5 am lobby call the next morning.
Hope the amp checks out...I have changed the filter caps in most of mine and it does wonders...in fact when one of them arrived, it sounded terrible, and that was the culprit...these amps are 40+ years old and the two big filter caps need to be changed.
Good luck and take care!

I picked the amp up from Bondz Music today and it works. The EV speaker is good and the reverb isn't great but the amp sounds good. I'm using it this Saturday on stage. I'll post again next week and let you know how it works. Thanks for the interest and advice.
Steve H. we'll have to swap Church St. stories soon. |

I got to try out the amp Saturday evening and it didn't sound like it used to. I'll sell it to anyone who has an interest in it. It seems to have some historical significance so it might work out well for someone with the technical knowledge to work on it. It sounded fine at lower volume but seemed to get muddy when pushed. Thanks to all who posted links to the history and schematics. |

Steve you're so right about louder. I think it may be because of the change in 'country music'. We do very little traditional country and it seems that after a song like "Wild West", there's a continual increase in stage volume. I have a daughter in Beech Grove Tn. a son in Murray Ky. and a bunch of family in Indy. We'll be up later this year. Are you still playing at the Palace and Scoreboard? |

Ben,I ain't sure why, but all the bands I play with are WAAAAY too loud...
Playing at the Palace sometimes as a sub w/Mrs.Hinson's band...
No longer at the SB...long story, not very interesting...
Holla when you get here!
