I’m looking for a new pickup for my 75’ MSA classic. (Mine but the dust) it was a super sustain. Any input and knowledge of what fits appreciated. I tend to like my highs a little more warm than shrill. Looking for new or used.

Thanks all!

I have a 75 and a 76 MSA U-12. I have the Telonics X-12 on one of them and the Telonics 427 on the other. The 427 is a little mellower. Love them both and both are humbuckers. The ten string version is the 409 and X10.

I have a '76 D10 that came with Super Sustain pickups which I found to sound muddy. Replaced them with BL710's and have been happy ever since.

Thanks guys, did you have to do any rerouting on your steel to get them to fit? Also, how much do the Telonics pickups cost?

I assume that your pickups are the wider ones. If that is the case, the BL710 wide mount and the Telonics wide mount fit the pickup hole without any surgery on the guitar.

Thanks Everyone! I got ahold of Sophie at Telonics. She was very helpful and gave me every measurement I could possibly need. Ordered an X10PW today and will report back on how it fits. Maybe even take a photo.

You'll love that pickup on an MSA. It's a perfect pickup to upgrade the older MSA's.

Has anyone wired it up to coil split? If so, how did you like it?
