I'm not sure what section this should be posted in. so I'll start here.

It appears that someone has hacked into my email and is sending fake emails from my Comcast account to folks in my address book.

Here's what the body of the email reads:

"How are you doing? I need a favor. Please let me know if you are available to help.

Lynn"

If you get a message like this, please don't reply to it!

I'm sorry for any inconvenience,

Lynn Stafford

Yeah, I got one too... it came up as coming from 'Lynn Strafford' in mine, so it looked fishy right from the get-go.

That said, how ya doin' Lynn? Been a while, hope all is well? I've been drooling over the photos of that 'Boltaround' you sold Tommy (his name for it)... Dang!.. got any more? Smile

Me as well.

I didn't know what was up, I responded with what do you need ? I was thinking you may be seeking some Emmons parts.

Crazy scam, "Buy me some Google Play gift cards, I'll pay you back in a few days" Thats about the lamest scam on earth !

My email will probably be hacked next , I hope not.

Probably not, these are AUTO messages probably in the thousands.

I also received it yesterday, quickly realized that your email had been hacked due to the misspelling. I understand and it wasn’t a problem, sorry it happened to you.

Good to hear from you, Hope all is well with you? I need help in purchasing 2 google play gift Cards for my niece, It's her birthday but I can't do this now because I'm currently traveling. Can you purchase them for me from any store around you? I'll pay back when I get back home this weekend.

Lynn

Not sure if you can get regular emails currently. So sorry you have to deal with this.

Anyone receiving those emails from Lynn’s account,
DO NOT open them!
Forward them to abuse@comcast.net and put “Phishing Email Scam” in the subject line then delete it.

Not so funny. Last year the police found an old Nigerian prince passed away in his tiny apartment. He had 20 million under his bed and never did get a response from all the strangers he had e-mailed. Laughing
