I found a steel pin below my Derby SD10 3x5 and I don't see the place it fell from. The A pedal cross shaft was out of its bushing on the rear apron, so I suspect it belongs there. I don't see any hole or a pin like this anywhere else. It's 5/8 long, hollow and about 1/8th inch diameter. Anyone have a clue? I really don't see what holds the cross shaft in place. Thanks

After hours of gleaning the forum and internet I believe it may be the pin used with a spring to hold the cross shaft in place. Getting a tear down to fix it, or rework that system. |

Well the cross shaft for the A pedal was missing a nylon spacer washer on the front apron. The shaft could walk out of the rear apron bushing and flop around. I didn't have the same washer and a standard steel flat washer was not thick enough to take up the space. I cut down a spring and installed it on the shaft so it keeps modest pressure keeping the shaft from walking out. Contrary to what I read there is no pin and this shaft is solid on both ends. If anyone has interest I took a few pictures of the repair. |
