A tip of the hat to Neil. He got me started way back when. He is a steel guitar historian and knows his way around both E9th and C6th.

I occasionally get requests for lessons or inquiries about learning steel and I always... ALWAYS... refer Neil to those asking about such things. He has the history, the skills, the knowledge, and the DEDICATION to steel guitar instruction that makes for a great teaching experience.
The learning experience, however, is up to the student, but Neil can show y'all the way.
Just a sidebar: at the ASGC meeting last Sunday, Neil and I were listening to a great set by Jody Cameron. When Jody was backing his wife singing a lovely rendition of the Connie Smith classic "Then and Only Then" with the famous Weldon Myrick intro and solo, Neil leaned over to me and said "that solo was on my first instructional album."
"That's where I learned it, Neil" was my reply. _________________ My rig: Infinity and Telonics.
Son, we live in a world with walls, and those walls have to be guarded by men with steel guitars. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. Weinberg? |

The Sho-Bud lick instruction LP by Neil was one of my prime learning tools.
I have one of his C6th Chord books, too. _________________ GFI Ultra Keyless S-10 with pad (Black of course) TB202 amp, Hilton VP, Steelers Choice sidekick seat, SIT Strings

I certainly wish I lived in your area. Man oh man, what an opportunity, for someone that lives in that area, to learn from one of all time greats. WOW. _________________ I am currently running a Simmons SD10, Peavey Nashville 400 that's packing a 15" BW, Peavey Delta Fex effects processor, and a Match Box.
