This originally was a Sho-Bud Maverick,I completely stripped it down to just the end with the plates and body.I then rebuilt it using a good changer neck undercarriage, and headstock,I cut a window in the end plate ,it turned out a very nice sounding and playing guitar.
The pickup on the natural steel is from a Carter Magnum.
Jimmy.
The other picture is of the other steel I made using the same type of neck and headstock I took of an old D10 I had ,the changer on this steel is from a Sho-Bud Super Pro,this Steel is set up as a C6th,plays and sounds great.

Hey Jimmy,
Nice to see folks utilize the Maverick cabinet and parts as the basis for a new guitar. The cabinet always had good maple and early on a nice maple raised neck.
Yours looks really nice with the black/natural combination! The aluminum pieces really provide a great contrast to the color combination.
Well done!ðŸ‘

Nice rescue. That's the 2nd modified Maverick on the forum today. Now, there's a guitar model that deserves to be improved. |

Hey Jimmy
Did you make your own changer?
If so, is it sitting on top of the aluminum fret board?
Can you take a closeup picture of the changer and post it here?
Thanks!

Hi Don,I will upload a picture of the changer before an after it was mounted on the steel as soon as I can, also for anyone interested I have done same using another steel using a Maverick body.
,I used a Sho-Bud changer and another neck and headstock the same as I have on the other steel I just put up on the forum,This is set up as a C6th 5x1.and also sounds and plays great.
