This question has probably been asked a few times over the years. I was born in 1937 in Hank Snow country,Nova Scotia. I took Hawaiian guitar lessons in 1948 long after Hank's steel player Eugene "Johnnie" Beaudoin in Montreal was playing "Brand On My Heart".

When I play "Brand On My Heart"in my A Major Low Bass tuning, it sounds identical note for note to Johnnie's break. Has it every been said or identified that Johnnie played in that tuning back then? These are the recordings produced by the RCA facility on Lenoir St in Montreal. Thanks to all.
