That was very nice Andy. And it really does capture the flavour of a lazy summer day.
I can also see (and hear) the wisdom of that tuning. You have that sweet, jazzy major 7 available in major keys, and a a full minor triad for minor keys, and 2 & 6 chords in major keys.

Harry Manx uses this tuning for his song “coat of mail†among others. You can get some nice chords.

| Yes, very nice chords, I've put one of my Oahu's in it( C# but same intervals) and worked out a serviceable version of Femme Fatale by Velvet Underground pretty quickly. I like it,its got a Burt Bacharach vibe to it. now to try your song. |

I went down a Dmaj7 rabbit hole this past weekend revisiting my 70s high school am radio life when, just jamming, I realized Ventura Highway complete with its harmonized intro licks sits perfectly and easily playable in this tuning.

when i post a tune after i build someone a lap steel and i use THEIR tuning, i always just plink around a bit until i hear the melody of a song. then i record that song. sometimes the tuning does indeed dictate the song you should play. |

Bill, I absolutely agree with you that sometimes the tuning we're playing will dictate the song we play. My original song, Moontide, grew out of B11 tuning. One day I was experimenting with some of the chord voicings built into the tuning... and suddenly this melody popped out! Those particular chords and notes would never have occurred to me on C6, A6, E13, or another tuning IMO. I think Andy is experiencing something similar with his tuning.
