As most already know, Mooney dominates Bucks early Capitol recordings. As such, Buck must have recognized that Mooneyâ€™s attacking style of play was key to the West Coast Sound and his early success.How much input did Buck, Mooney and producer Ken Nelson have on Mooneyâ€™s parts ? I read that Nelson was pretty much hands off except for being the taskmaster with the final say on the recording master takes.How much improvisation was there in the takes from the rehearsals?
