I am a CF Martin retiree, and I have a circa 2003 Artist Model serialized Prototype that did not go into production. It is a Raffi Cavoukian collaboration. Only four were made. One went to Raffi, one sold at Christie's Auction in Manhattan in 2008 to celebrate CF Martin's 175th anniversary, one is retained in the CF Martin historic assets, and I had the chance to purchase one.
It is a full gloss dreadnought HDC-35 Raffi with Machiche back and sides, 3-piece back with Tzalam wedge, Cherry neck, Morado fingerboard and bridge. Beautiful whale inlay on headstock and inlay heart on fingerboard. Internal label signed by Chris Martin IV and Raffi. Stored carefully, like new, comes with expensive Ameritage case or can be bought without case. Tone has aged beautifully. $1750 without the case, $1900 with the Ameritage.
I don't want to ship this, but will make available for local sale only.I am located near the Martin factory in the Bethlehem/ Nazareth area of eastern PA. This is about one hour west of NYC. Thank you. Pictures below

Would you consider shipping, if so, I’m extremely interested in this guitar.

Hi Dale, Thanks for your note. I am going to hope for an interested person in the NYC / Philly area so that I can avoid the risk of shipping. If that doesn’t happen, I will likely repost after a while and and ship. For now I will see if I can hand this to somebody in person. Regards, Mark

Wow - that's a beauty!

I don't normally care for cutaway Martin dreads - something about them doesn't look quite right to me - but I think I could make an exception for this one. Cool

Hey Scott, the headstock does not have binding. I guess you are right that I didn’t really include a photo showing full view. Maybe I can add that to the pics. -Mark

Marvelous detail, in the Martin quality tradition. I’d be 😢 sad to let it go too, Mark. I’m sure it will be a treasure to some one. Hope things go smoothly for you.

I am so happy to update that this CF Martin Raffi artist model has a pending sale to Troubadour Music. This is Raffi’s own production company, and I am glad this connection was made through the Steel Guitar Forum.
