This beauty is is an American Vintage Reissue limited "Designer Edition", built especially for Guitar Center. I believe it was built around the year 2000. It's very similar to a standard American Vintage '62 Reissue, except for the very striking quilted maple caps on the front and back. All original, with the exception of a 4-way switch and Callaham compensated saddles.
I had my friend, Russ Blake of The 12th Fret in Portland, OR set it up for me, so it plays like a dream! The neck profile is very comfortable "not chunky" and the frets are the vintage style. I believe the radius is 7 1/4".
Both the Guitar and G&G case are in very nice 9/10 condition!
$1800.00 shipped to the lower 48 states. Or, pick it up in person for $1700.00. I'm currently in Woodland, WA just north of Portland, OR. I can accept PayPal (friends and Family, or add 3%) USPS money order, or personal check (if you don't mind waiting until it clears). _________________ Best regards,

your guitar MAY be a 2012 as i have a tele from 2012 that starts with V12 also. you can probably check the serial on fender's site.
good luck with your sale of a beautiful guitar.

Michael,
Thanks for your input and kind words.
I took a look at the Fender site and from what I can gather, there should be a US proceeding the 12 followed by 6 digits to indicate a 2012 built guitar. However, according to what I read, this would apply to a guitar other than an American Vintage Series, which still seems to use the V followed by 5 or 6 digits.

It seems a bit confusing to me, because of what you said about the serial number of your guitar. I'm the first to say that I'm certainly no expert on Fender guitars. I think I bought this guitar used around 2012 or so. I have a feeling that it was built a few years prior to that.
Someone I consider knowledgeable told me he thought my guitar was built in 2000. I guess the only way to know for sure would be to pull the neck and look at the date stamp. _________________ Best regards,

Lynn, I think you have the specs and date of this instrument correct. Fender did indeed make a limited run of '62 Reissue Telecaster Customs with a quilted maple cap for Guitar Center. This V + 125xxx serial number roughly corresponds to an American-made Vintage Reissue (AVRI) made around 2000 or so, although there is not an exact correspondence between year and serial number. I believe they used the last two digits of the year (roughly) in the later American Vintage (AV) series - I think that started around 2011. I believe the serial numbers of the AV series are V followed by 7 digits - I have two 2012 AV Strats with V12xxxxx serial numbers. I've seen quite a lot of these from various years.
A little bit of research indicates that there were 125 of these particular version Tele Customs made. Here's another for sale on reverb as we speak - https://reverb.com/item/34874437-fender-custom-telecaster-2000-american-designer-edition-quilted-maple - there are quite a few discussions about these guitars online.
Nice Tele! I have a soft spot for '62 RI Telecasters. |

yea, mine is v12 followed by five numbers. it is a 58 american vintage tele made in 2012 that i purchased in 2013. i note that yours has four numbers afterward and it appears dave's research is correct. hope that helps.

Hi Jim Cooley,
The entire Portland, Oregon region is snowed in right now and this guitar is in storage in a climate controlled locker about 30 miles away from where I am living currently. Things are supposed to improve on Wednesday though. I'll be happy to go there to get the measurements you've asked for as soon as it is practical.
I researched this model and it looks like the nut width should be 1.650" but I can't find the string spacing spec. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable will chime in and post something. _________________ Best regards,

Lynn,
Thanks for your reply and call. I apologize again for missing this yesterday. It probably had something to do with the weather here. That's the best excuse I can come with on short notice, anyway. |
