I have a National D8 console. The original screw on jack disintegrated and I replaced it with a standard SwitchCraft. It skews the metal plate everything is attached to, out about a 1/2" or so. It works, but I'd like to have it back where the screw on connector was. I know I can rout it out a bit and make the SwitchCraft work, but I'd rather not do any further damage to it. Is there a more shallow 1/4" jack that can fit there and do the job? Thanx!

Thanx. I wanted to avoid the rout, but since I've already bastardized it by changing the jack and tuners, I guess it's no big deal. Thanx!
