It is with a heavy heart that we pass on the news that Ruth Ardern has left us to be with her beloved husband Murray.
Ruth is a much loved part of our club and continued on after Murray’s passing some years ago.
Her love of steel guitar was deep.
Thanks for all you did.
Condolences to all the family and friends.
Rest In Peace Ruth, you will be missed. 😔 |

I was really saddened to hear about the passing of Ruth Ardern.
She was one of the friendliest members of the Brisbane Steel Guitar Club and would always have an encouraging word to say along with Murray after playing at the club.
Murray and Ruth tabbed a lot of music for me and they wrote a couple of beginners books which got me started.
Murray and Ruth are now together again.
The lessons and kind words they spoke will not be forgotten by any of the club members.
Ruth was also in charge of the website, helped with the afternoon teas and also would do the annual festival write-up for the website.
Ruth and Murray also founded the Tauranga Country Music Club in New Zealand.
She was a real friend to the Brisbane steel guitar family.
