Problem with my Rogue retrofit - no ground wire
I have problem with my Rogue retrofit - no ground wire
I have completed the georgeboards conversion kit. The instructions tell you to make sure the ground wire is under the bridge assembly. My rouge didn’t have a ground wire, you could see they attempted to drill a hole, but nothing was passed thru.
I have a terrible hum unless I touch the bridge assembly, or the metal on the guitar plug. How do I ground the electronics. I really don’t understand since this is single pickup with a tone and volume control.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you
I was a little hesitant taking the pick guard off. I wasn't expecting all the electronic to be attached to the pickguard. Once I did that it was easy to route the ground wire to the bridge.
Thank you

There was no ground wire when I did this retrofit yesterday. There is a bit of buzz that I can lessen by adjusting gain, volume, tone, etc. I just attributed it to being cheap electronics, and since I have little experience with this stuff I figured I'd just live with it. This guitar was bought for my 10 year old and the retrofit did improve tone and aesthetics. After seeing this thread, I plugged her in to check the noise and realized that there's a bum tuning peg that I'll work on replacing through Stew Mac, as well. How does the ground wire attach to the bridge and is it necessary/or the solution to the buzz?
BTW, I am very happy with the retrofit, regardless. My son loves magic and when he saw the playing card fretboard he was thrilled.

How to ground the strings.
Hello from GeorgeBoards
When doing one of the retroFit alterations, the entire End plate becomes part of the ground plane.
The strings go through the holes in the end plate.
Simply solder a wire on to the ground of any of the parts - eg; pot grounds - out put jack - what ever , and make sure it touches the end plate.
You might get away with putting - copper tape - wire - aluminum foil, from under the end plate to the face plate- no soldering.
To test this means use any conductor - wire to touch the end plate to the face plate and see if it grounds.
