What kind of string should I buy to re-string a pot pedal? What do y’all use? _________________ Steeless. |

Whack off a piece of those venetian blind cords that are always way too long. They work perfect for me. |

My personal fave is waxed Dacron lacing cord, but most small-diameter shoestrings will also do a pretty good job. |

You can buy a roll of masonary string at Lowes. It's with the rope. I bought a spool and used it. It worked fine but just looked a little wimpy. I went to the venetian blind cord and just feel a lot better about it.
Almost any string will work as long as it doesn't stretch out. Just turning the shaft on a pot, requires very little strength. I've heard guys say they won't use a pot pedal in fear of breaking the string. Not going to happen unless the string is rotten or installed incorrectly and something is pinching the string causing a cutting action. I've used pot pedals over 50 years and have never broken a string.

Fly line lasts a very long time. Nice smooth polymer coating. |

I use to shoot tournament archery and still bowhunt. If you can get your hands on some (thick) braided kevlar bowstring serving material and use that, you will get rid of your VP before the string breaks. I put it on and actually use bowstring wax on it and never look back. A 100 ft spool from an archery supply usually runs under $5 or use to. |

as a Goodrich dealer and repair guy for pot pedals, I use the Pink 1/8" Masonry Line.
This is the same that Goodrich used up until a while ago. They switched to a waxed line for the OMNI pedal.
If you don't want to buy a roll, drop me an email (NO PRIVATE MESSAGES) and I will send you a piece in an envelop at n/c.
Of course I would rather that you buy a Goodrich or George L's product from me at the same time. hehe
Bill _________________ AUTHORIZED George L's, Goodrich, Telonics and Peavey Dealer: I have 2 steels and several amps. My current rig of choice is 1993 Emmons LeGrande w/ 108 pups (Jack Strayhorn built for me), Goodrich OMNI Volume Pedal, George L's cables, Goodrich Baby Bloomer and Peavey Nashville 112. Can't get much sweeter. |
