Linkon fret markers, featuring a ship (legendary racing schooner The Bluenose), a moose, a beaver and a maple leaf.
Very proudly Canadian!

Here's one from a Miller that I reworked. The fretboard is original. The woodwork is my "upgrade".

Fulawka - Maybe I'm wrong about the ethnicity (an assumptuion on my part) but I've always found it interesting that a native american was so interested in pedal steel he decided to make one. It lends credence to the instrument.
Three's a "How It's Made" episode on Fulawka BTW.

Original Rittenberry

Many Rittenberry PSGs have the JCH style fretboard pictured earlier in this thread. More information on this can be found under the heading "Statement Regarding the change in fret boards on Rittenberry Steel Guitars" near the bottom of this page. http://rittenberrysteelguitars.com

Bob Sykes that’s the original Rittenberry. Rittenberry is the only authorized builder to use the JCH style fretboard. (New) Ritt is JCH style

Derek, Thanks for straightening that out. I have edited the caption for original fretboard pic.

BTW That new blue Prestige Custom with this original style fretboard is a beautiful piece of work.

It's interesting that cosmetically most pedal steels are quite the same........except for the fret boards. That and the name plate are the branding that differentiates.

Yes, unlike solid body electrics or even lap steels, most pedal steels are pretty much the same shape.

Here's a Dekley Student model

Thanks to John DeMaille, here's his Rus-Ler's fretboard.
As he pointed out to me, apparently the roses in various blooming phases were the last variation.

Maybe somebody has one of the earlier "Western" or "cowboy" themed fretboards...?

Thanks, John.

Thanks Bart (& John) for the cool Rus-Ler fretboard pics.

We're getting to some "rare birds" now. Here's a Howard (Grand Prairie, Texas). The name is almost readable at the changer end.

This one is likely a home-made, but well-made PSG possibly named "Cully". The horse head markers have a matching brass badge on front of guitar.

Here's my Ben-Rom, a custom made dustcatcher – routed from a 2 mm piece of aluminum, filled with black paint and sanded down. It catches a lot of dust for sure, but it looks great.

maybe slightly off-topic, but I wanted to ask:
Does anyone have an idea what the ZB position markers mean? I've looked at all the others and largely get the logic of them, but the symbols for my ZB are mystifying. Is it a military ranking thing?
