long time bass player for Mel Tillis and discover and manager of Lee Greenwood past away on Tuesday. Larry was the band leader and bass player when first saw Mel in the 70s. He was a very talented man and the bus clown. RIP fellow Statsider and friend.

Probably my favorite country bass player! He played with authority and sang well also. Was fortunate to meet him years ago in Seminole Oklahoma with the rest of Mel's guys.

Sympathies to his family -

Dang! I hate to hear that. I heard so many stories about Larry when I was in Mel’s band. None can be repeated though! 😉. Rest In Peace Larry. You brought laughter to a whole lot of people

So sorry to hear this. Grew up a street over from Larry's dad and saw Larry on occasions when he was home. Prayers going out to his family.
