Pure curiosity. Haven' heard anything about this TPS line of steel guitars lately. Anybody playing it? Still being built? |

Thanks Paddy. That's good to know. Somehow I thought there would be more interest, chatter etc. about them. Seems they are a sort of continuation of the old MCI line that was so popular. |

I’ve owned one since September of last year. A black D10 & couldn’t be happier with it. They take the better qualities of the MCI & add modern technology with it. It’s a great sounding guitar. John Cassias & Ron Browning are great guys. |

Golly hard to believe it’s been way over a year since I saw my friend Arty Passas. He was playing one in Kevin Fowler’s band and really like it! I saw that guitar at Dallas back in 2019.. I think they are nice guitars and the guys selling them were nice guys. I think the great player, Tommy Detamore might have one?? |

Yes design-wise they include a lot of the features of MCI's and also Carters ... the necks have the rolled edges like the Carter guitars as well .. not a welded frame though, they have a standard maple type body with machined end plates. _________________ 14'Zumsteel Hybrid D10 9+9

Appears from their website they only offer a D-10.
I would imagine if they offered a S-10 or SD-10 you might hear more about them. Offering only a D-10 really limits your market. |

While I think most professional players want a D10, they do build SD10's also.

MCI style changers , pull rods & bell cranks. Very smooth pedals & knee levers. Fingertip knee lever adjustment is a nice feature. I love the tone. |

Thanks Randall! While I do not own one, I have had three TPS guitars under my roof at one time or another. The kind fellers at TPS wanted me to evaluate them and give some feedback. Being a long-time aficionado of Carter steels, and more recently of MCI's, the design of the TPS was intriguing to me.
These are very nice steels and sound quite good IMHO. They do in fact makes an SD-10. I took one to St. Lucia last year on a fly date for Heather Myles. The guitar in the standard fiber flight case well under the 50-lb limit. Enough so that I was able to cram some effects pedals and such in there. I also have a friend who took delivery on a new SD-10 not long ago. _________________ Tommy Detamore

Anybody else playing this guitar? I'm surprised there's not more noise about these since the MCIs were so well loved. |
