| what is the best for amps, mostly peavey? i looked online but there are a lot of different ones....any help or advice is appreciated....thanks jack |

crc or deoxit 5. both have become fairly expensive and may need to be shipped ground which will raise the price considerably. i just checked on both yesterday.

Try this. It's safe on most everything and it's a simple approach of a lubricant after using a cleaner.
But if you want to get picky.
Use these:
Cleaner first and then lube last.
Electrolube grease CG53A35SL
This is used to restore the resistance in the pot or fader sweep when a spray cleaner removes the lube grease they put at the factory.

It's a grease so you need a way to get it in the pot.
You can buy it like this:
Guys who own Neve boards use this stuff.
The good pots/faders come with grease in them when made. That's why when you turn a quality pot there is some resistance as you sweep through the pot or move the fader. It becomes hydraulic like a shock absorber has fluid.
Spraying a cleaner in there dissolves it and removes it. Should want to replace it. 
A combination cleaner/lube is for all intents a contradiction in terms.
This Electrolube grease is so far the best out there.
Reviews on Deoxit is it causes pots and switches to cut out. Has something to do with their changing their recipe the solution destroys the interior of the pots. That and it collects dust.
So do your research before you grab for the popular brand.

I've been a tube amp tech for 20+ years. Caig DeOxit D5 is my regular go-to, HOWEVER, there are a couple of places where you don't want to use it.
Don't use D5 on slide faders; DeOxit will flush out the lubricant and they'll immediately seize up rendering them useless.
Also, never EVER use D5 in a tube socket. DeOxit leaves behind a thin film of lubricant. It might sound nice for a day or so, but the first time you get a little micro-arc within the socket, the residual D5 will start to turn into an insulating varnish, and eventually it'll be noisier than ever. Some folks claim their high temperature "gold label" spray is better, but I've had bad luck with it as well.
For Faders, Caig makes something now called F5 Fader lubricant. It'll clean up slide faders, but unfortunately it will also flush out some of the grease. Better than D5, though. It helps to follow up with some additional fader grease straight from the syringe (mentioned earlier)
For tube sockets, if you use a spray cleaner, it needs to be residue-free. It'll say it right on the can. There are a number of items which will work (Caig's "Degreaser Wash" is one of them). Pure isopropyl alcohol is good too, applied sparingly. |

Depending on the brand of pot, sometimes it's best to -if poss--
just open the pot and put the stuff where it needs to go rather than flood it with liquid |
