I've just taken this bar in an exchange, but I find it's way too heavy for me. I'm hoping someone out there can tell me if it's a production bar or a one-off. It's about 8oz/220g in weight, 3.5" long and 3/4" in diameter, used condition. Stamped GM at one end, with a fancy red 'diamond'at the other. I'll be moving it on asap, but I've no idea what to ask for it. Help!

Personally I like a heavy bar for E9. I was going to say BJS when I saw the stone on the nose. Bill Stroud was doing that for a while with birth stones. Mine is supposed to be an opal but it's kind of transparent and looks more like an amethyst to me. It sends out a nice sparkle under a stage light. My favorite bar. It's 1" and heavy. Never heard of a "GM" bar but I'm sure someone around here has.

Maybe GM means Good Music... Any bar can be lightened by a good machinist & never leave a scratch on the bar...

I think the GM might be a previous owner's initials?
