I have to agree.
The rhythm guitar playing is spot on as is the lap steel and Lou’s singing is perfect for the song. |

I must admit that it was quite strange for us to play 30 min for a camera, not my favorite exercice but it seems like musicians from all over the world have to get used to it 
Anyway, here is the set list :
1 Honolulu Baby
2 On a Coconut Island (start at 3'05)
3 Mr Sandman (6')
4 Over the Rainbow (9'30)
5 Sleepwalk (12'50)
6 South Sea Island Magic (15'20)
7 An Orange Grove in California (19')
8 Singin the Blues (22'10)
9 On a Little Bamboo Bridge (25'30)
I played three great instruments for this short set : a wooden Tricone made by Fine Resophonic, a Clinesmith Frypan and a vintage National Tricone.

Thanks Paolo, do you mind sharing your tunings? The first guitar (maple tricone, beautiful instrument!) I assume is in a major triad tuning like open G or A...
As odd as the new reality for musicians is, we who are unable to attend personally do appreciate it...please keep playing, and if there's a way to support via donations or tickets and the like, a lot of groups are doing things like that (eg Larkin Poe live stream concerts).
The whole set was great! It may feel awkward playing to an empty room but you definitely are connecting with an audience...

Concerning the tunings, the maple tricone is tuned in G high bass, the National tricone and the Clinesmith are tuned in A6.

This guitar was made by Mike Lewis who builds great resonator guitars under the brand Fine Resophonic. It's his friend and slide guitarist Michael Messer who once asked him to build a wooden replica of a vintage Tricone squareneck. The first time I played the one on the video it was around 15 years ago. I immediately felt in love with it. I waited for 10 or 12 years before buying it (the guitar was used in trade shows).
About the sound, it's quite hard for me to describe sound so the best I can say is that it is not as "bright" as the National, of course. It has a more mellow sound but with lot of punch. This guitar can be very loud, at least as much as the metal one.
One of the great things is the weight, I can play it stand up without any problem.
