That is quite an historic compilation!! It is awesome to see so many of the greatest steel guitarists of all time in one video.

Great footage! Is that Willie Nelson on bass with the Cherokee Cowboys & Jimmy Day at 18:59?

Willie signed with Ray Price's music publishing company, circa 1961, and also played bass with him around that time. So it may well be him.

This is tremendous footage, for sure. There are at least a hundred mini-lessons in steel playing in there.

The first ten minutes is taken from a feature on
ISGC that was produced by TNN (The Nashville Network).
The reporter is Glynelle Wells, a former student of
mine and a Saint Louis resident.
After college Glynelle moved to Nashville
for several years working for TNN.
Glynelle is back in St. Louis
and plays locally.
